Figured as much. He's had that jab before just never used it as much as it sounds like he is today.

    Round 9:
Duddy looks like he is just playing with him. No KO in mind I think.
Duddy again with jabs. Hitting lots now. Furlan clinching. Nice straight right by Duddy and Furlan misses a right hook. Furlan so sloppy now. Duddy hitting the jabs at will. Furlan clinching and his head is dangerous. Hooks by Furlan mostly blocked. Uppercut by Duddy scores. Left hook too. Furlan lunges in and does nothing. Duddy with a left hook, partially blocked. Furlan dagain misses with a lunging left hook. Duddy jabbing. And again. Furlan is tired. Bell.

Looks like Furlan is doing what he was paid to do...turn up and allow Duddy to have his glorious homecoming to Ireland. I like Duddy as he makes for entertaining fights, but needs more tests like Yory Boy Campas gave him.

    Final Round (10):
Duddy jabbing once more. Furlan doing nothing. Furlan with a straight right. More jabs. Furlan luncges in and clinches. Furlan trying to jab back. Missing everything. Jabs by Duddy. Left hook by Furlan. Nice jab by Furlan. Duddy with a nice cross. Big combo by Duddy and Furlan is floored by a left hook. Back up, but hurt! Duddy is finishing him relentlessly. Down again! Referee counting but the corner has stopped it with around 10 seconds left. Furlan is pissed. Duddy wins by TKO!
Furlan did not deserve to lose like that, he was tough.

    Cool clicks back to all.
Duddy was trying to get the rounds in I think. As soon as he began to open up in the last, he hurt Furlan and floored him twice.
Decent fight, but Duddy can be more exciting for sure. Think he was trying to showcase what he learned in training camp.

    Cheers man.
Don Turner was saying that Duddy is around 5 fights away from a world title fight (too soon I think). He said that he knew Duddy would knock him out by the second round, but Duddy wanted to box him.
He seems to be trying to morph Duddy into a boxer, like McGirt did with Gatti.
Duddy looked good against a guy that was as stationery as they come, his real test will be against a mover.

Good stuff Oggie. 5 fights, that's a bit far off I would have expected something sooner especially with Taylor and Pavlik leaving and the other champs at 160 nothing extraordinary. Still, they know what's best.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention... they announced Bernard Dunne's next fight earlier. He'll be defending his European title against the 1# and mandatory challenger Kiko Martinez on August 25th at the Point Theatre in Dublin.

    Thanks man.
I'm Irish you know, so I'll root for Duddy whatever he chooses... but I just don't see him hanging with the likes of Taylor, Pavlik, Sturm or Winky (if he comes back to middleweight). Abraham and Miranda would be easier, but I still think it would be very hard work... 50/50 fights at best, without doubt.
I think they need to build him up a bit more at European level, especially now that he has a new trainer. Hopefully he will knock some boxing into him. Like I said though, once he gets in with a guy that can dance, we'll see what he is really like.

    Nice coverage Oggie-Ben-Doggie!

I totally agree...Duddy's got a lot more work before he get's that title shot.
Never beg a 40 dollar hooker...specially after she's just turned down your mom's credit card!!

good work son, it sounded a pretty exciting fight, I'm guessing something along the lines of his fight with Bonsante?

He definitely needs work and will never be a great fighter but he's certainly exciting and will doubtless prove to be one of the top draws over the next 4 or 5 years.
