Alfonso Gomez vs. Ricky Hatton

Agreed Gatti was shot, but I can separate that, and give Gomez merit. He came in much more fit than before, threw good body shots, good combos, was very accurate, and has always been able to take a shot. Far from elite, but still, major improvements to his game were evident. He still has slow hands and poor footwork.

if he's far from elite he probably should wait until he's a little closer to it to get in the ring with Ricky Hatton.

I think that is the overall conclusion that most people have drawn from this thread.
