Yeah I've seen the fight too (live telecast on HBO). Prolly one of the greatest fights in boxing history. Barrera-McKinney going at it, none stop!

I just wish MAB could give Pac the same competition.

Wasn't Mckinney in olympic team with Roy Jones seem to remember that and as for this fight wow what a war i remember Barrera pounding him then Mckinney coming out of nowhere to score a knockdown Mckinney done well at the start using his jab then it just turned into amazing war i think in 1 of the rounds they both threw over 100 punches or something i think it was the 6th round.

VD, I've mentioned this before but my uncles are the ones who got me into boxing. They never missed a fight they also attended fights out here in L.A. at the Forum, The Olympic Aud., Convention Center in Anaheim, L.A. Sports Arena and other venues.....
It wouldn't surprise me if you and your uncles might have crossed paths with my uncles at one point in the 80's/early 90's fights here in L.A.

If Pac was around at that weight at athat time Barrera would have done worse to him . Pac was getting sparked in 3 rounds by nobodies . No way would he have lasted with a prime Barrera that we saw vs Mckinney .

I remember one funny moment from that fight...

After one of the rounds, MAB's cornerman is yelling at him, "You've got to throw more punches, you can't just sit around and let him get off!!!"

Then when they cut back to the HBO guys, Lampley says, "They're yelling at him to throw more punches? He just threw 117 punches in that round!!"

Prime vs prime, Pac would KO both Barrera and McKinney. MAB and McKinney were going at it, trading punches round after round and they couldn't inflect serious damage to each other.

Anyone who would trade punches with Pac will find himself KTFO. Capisce?

Pac and Morales traded punches round after round in their first fight. How'd that one go again?

Exactly! Some Pac fans probably think he could knock out heavyweights. Lets see...his three biggest fights are Barrera, Morales, and Marquez. He beat an unprepared and unfocused Marco. He lost to a prime Morales in their first fight and then defeated a near shot Erick in the second fight and a completely shot Erick in their third fight. He had a draw against Marquez. The rest of his resume...nothing spectacular. Don't get me wrong...Pac is a tremendous athlete and an exciting fighter...but way too many people gave WAY too much credit for the Barrera fight and the last two Morales fights.

Pac traded punches with one eye. He got cut from accidental headbutt, not from Erik's punch.

    It went that way.

    Oh please!!

I actually have a great deal of respect for Manny and think he has achieved a tremendous amount but ignorant posts like this leave a bitter taste in my mouth.

The utter arogance of your final couple of sentences says it all.

Barrera did lose to Manny. But look at the style Barrera was exhibiting against McKinney. It was a world apart from how he fought Pac. Dont be so quick to make judgements. Prime on Prime Barrera has a very decent chance of beating Pac.
