I think he had just started his prime, I would say his coming out prime fight was the Gomez victory.

This was an awesome fight Nelson was winning in early going then Sanchez took over then it was just an action packed fight Sanchez looked like he didn't have anything left then come out for the 15th round like it was the 1st round and finally stopped Nelson Sanchez's stamina was something else he always seemed to have a bit more heart and stamina than his opponents bit like Ali.

It was a close fight coming into the 11th round but Nelsons face was begining to show signs of being hit and hard.
Great fight all in all.

By the way where is my manners ?? i forgot to you Mick sorry about that i was in a rush earlier had to do something i have seen quite a few Sanchez fights but his fight with Lopez was boxing masterclass you won't see much better boxing than that.

I would say Alexis Arguello because the fight was in theory so close to happening.
But def. Saddler would be up there in the list. What a match up of styles that would be?

Other fighters whom I would have loved to see against Sanchez would be 'Puas' Olivares, Saldivar and MAB.

Story has it he did fight a couple of times but they were not counted as amateur fights nor is there any record of them.
That is the reason why people say he had soo much talent and room to improve. I personally think he was just in the early stages of his prime other people think differently. He was so naturally gifted along with being very smart in the ring.

I can't stress enough how many times I've read where people try to down play Sanchez by saying that he beat a prospect in Nelson or that Nelson was not ready for a fight of that caliber.

Well watch the fight and tell me Nelson fought like a prospect. Or that he fought like someone with 13 fights....

Nelson stood up to a P4P fighter at that time and a great that IMO was in his prime and gave 'em one helluva fight.

I had done a rd. by rd. of the fight along with parts of what you see. But then I asked myself how many people are really gonna read a loooooong as article? So I decided to cut the rd. by rd. down to the best rounds and add my own voice to it.
I wrote it in pencil and then typed it in Word, cause I can't tell you how many times I type a good comment and then the page goes on time out and I loose everything that I typed.
