every fight, every year i hear the same thing from fight fans, "taylor cant beat my guy". does anyone ever learn or get tired of talking the stuff that they never come back and say "ok, i was wrong". taylor wins fight after fight. this is the last middle wight fight for taylor. he will move up to super without ever loosing. he will always be known as a great middle weight even though his natrual weight is 187lbs. think what he going to do in the super middleweight division.![]()

Not trying to defend JT, but i would call Winky a genuine middleweight even tho he fought a lot at 154. He is probably the toughtest fight at 160 out there.Originally Posted by DaxxKahn
Your kidding yourself if you think pro and amatuers are the same fight, you score points for any connect on the white part of the glove, even if its a pitty pat shot. Pro's put alot more emphasis on power shots.Originally Posted by DaxxKahn
Oh, and it was a split decision too.I thought there was only one judge in amateurs...I admit I dont know alot of the amateurs rules.
Personally I think that if you're in with some one who can bang - head guards don't do shit.
Probally the same thing he did in the middle weights have boring win after controversial win and get pushed around by middle weights instead of super welter weights. It we be intresting how to see how is chin holds up agianst a guy who can rip your chin off.Originally Posted by teamTAYLOR

2000 Olympic Trials, Tampa, Florida, 156 pounds, double elimination tournament: in his first fight on 2-9-00 he lost an 11-5 decision against Jermain Taylor of Little Rock, AR; i n his second fight on 2-10-00 h e won a 9-6 decision against Darnell Wilson of Lafayette, IN; in his third fight on 2-12-00 he lost a 15-7 decision against Tony Hanshaw of Mansfield, OH; regarding the losses against Taylor and Hanshaw, Kelly said, “They were both really close fights. Both of those fights could have gone either way.”… I was wrong only 1 judge, disregard the above error. This is from Pavliks website www.teampavlik.com

Just like Taylor is going to embarrass Pavlik, right?Originally Posted by Just a Boxing Fan

Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!
