Winky is a great fighter. He goes WAY north of his weightclass to fight a bigger guy that's a definite hall of famer. He lost a decision in a fight that he put all of his cards on the table. Nothing to be ashamed of. Much respect to Winky.

Hopkins won it 116-112 in my book. Worst you could have it was 115-113 for Hopkins. Winky got taken out of his gameplan with Hopkins head butt and rough housing. Bernard is THE MAN, but I question if this mediocre fight was worth coming back for. It certainly was not as good as Hopkins' domination of Antonio Tarver. But in a way this was kinda like a high profile tune up fight for Hopkins b4 he takes on Calzaghe or some other huge name out there.

I have watch it 3 times I have it almost like Ledderman except round 5 I gave it to WinkyOriginally Posted by Tito_BHB
Meanining I saw Winky 115 to 113. But clearly it could have gone either way but the scrore cards of the judges where pure BS

man,
this is going to sound cliche but, this is probably one of the worst judged fights i have ever witness'd in my life.
i had it a draw, and if it went to anyone, it went to winky. But i could of understood a draw.
but jesus christ 116-112 x2, and 117-111?
That is downright idiotic. It was the battle of the "previously screwed" fighters, and they gave it to hopkins. That was outrageous.
thats hilarious! What the heck does BEXONY mean anywayOriginally Posted by Tito_BHB

Why is it (the scores) idiotic?Originally Posted by Big_Deuce
If 2 guys fight in a 12 round fight & every round is very close then a score of 120-108 is not even out of the question. I'm not talking about this fight in particular, but the close rounds of any fight has to go to somebody. When rounds are close the judges don't just take turns giving the rounds from one guy to the other to intentionally make the scorecards reflect a close fight. The judge will give each/every round to the guy that did a little more in his opinion.
As I'm sure that everyone on this forum knows/understands the fights are scored round by round. Like I posted before, A blowout that leads to a legitamate robbery is one thing. But close rounds that the judges prefer one guys work over the other can hardly be condemned IMO.

I had it 114-114. I had Wright winning going into the last which I gave to Hopkins. Honestly though, if I had to pick a winner, I'd have probably gone with Winky. I felt he hit with cleaner punches and alot of Hopkins shots were blocked. It was close. I was disgusted with the wide scoring.
In my opinion Hopkins won 7 rounds to 5. He fought smart if a bit ugly and nullified Wrights jab. He would not be able to beat Galzaghe using this strategy.
