Those 2 names on his resume are as good as anyone else names on other resumes. Sure he looked bad v Spinks and Ouma but he won.Simple as.
I'd tend to agree with you, however I think it is a question of on what criteria you judge the p4p status. If you look at it recently, B-Hop has beaten Tarver and Wright, whilst Taylor has struggled with Spinks and Ouma. For me I don't think Barrera should be in the p4p list any more, because he hasn't performed at the top level for a few years now, although he looked OK against JMM. I think Barrera is in there simply because of his pedigree, rather than where he ranks among his peers on current form.
Personally I think Calzaghe is top 10 P4P and would muller the likes of Taylor..BUT..Calzaghe's been on the Ring P4P list since beating Lacy which he's followed up with Bika and Manfredo. Lacy wasn't in their top 10. Bika and Manfredo - nuff said.

How can Calzaghe rank above Taylor if Taylor beat and drew with guys in their top 10 and remains unbeaten?
I think the only way to justify that is that Calzaghe is the biggest guy on their list and that he is dominating a division where he is head an shoulders better than anyone in there, except for the guy he's fighting next. There's still a few m/w's out there that Taylor needs to beat, such as Pavlik, but if he wins that one then he'll have to go in the mixer there too.
