Toney being weight drained is a poor excuse. Toney battled weight problems his entire career, yet he never clearly lost a fight for more than a decade after he was dominated by Jones.
Toney lost his very next fight to Montell Griffin (A loss is a loss). RJJ fought Ruiz (a legitamate HW with a 30+ lb advantage) right after he went 1-1-1 with Holyfield. And albeit a DQ win against Kirk Johnson, it was a win.

IMO there's not a right or wrong answer to this question. It just depends on personal opinion of what impressed u more.
A loss is not a loss when you preface it by saying he never "CLEARLY lost", which is how I stated it. James Toney was dominated only twice in his career, which spanned more than 70 fights. The first was against Roy, the second didn't occur until more than 12 years later in the second Sam Peter fight.
Tell it to the history books bro.
So bro, are you saying that James Toney has been dominated more than twice in his career?
No, I totally agree with u on that point. And Toney is a great fighter.

I do get what ur saying about "clearly lost". I look at things differently. He may not have been beaten up or dominated, that's a whole different thing (I take it that this is what ur referring to when u say clearly lost). But anybody that's got a "L" put in the column of a fight--clearly lost that fight in the eyes of the history books.

IMO RJJ beating a guy that was the same size as him wasn't quite as impressive as giving up over 30 lbs & dominating a legitimate HW.

The Toney fight was an impressive showing & absolutely deserves discussion in this thread. But for me, I prefer the Ruiz showing.
