In a smaller ring Hatton would be too much for Mayweather. Hatton's mauiling style woould give Floyd fits. however in a big ring Floyd pot shots to a ud .

the Hatton people need to negotiate a small ring, 14 16 no bigger then 18 foot.. if that cant be arranged then ricky needs to find someone who wants to fight. Cotto would be an equal money maker and more pleasing fan friendly style IMO.

I think Hatton will pull the win out his arse. UD.

They both have beaten great opponents, but i think Hatton's work rate with some holds will win him the decision. I expect he will rise to the occasion and competition.

    A small cage......what a brilliant idea.

The only way to win is KO or climb over before your opponent does... I've seen something like this before.

I think Floyd is too quick and too smart to get caught in Hatton's bullying.. he'll evade it all night unless Hatton gets some good clean shots in clean and often. That was how Castillo eventually slowed Mayweather down to a point where Floyd was going toe to toe with him. With that said, i think Floyd will outbox and outclass Hatton for a UD/possible late stoppage.

I am going to have to go for Mayweather by Ud however......
If Hatton can copy what De la Hoya was doing at the start of the Mayweather De la Hoya fight and not tire out i reckon he has a real chance. When Oscar was pressuring Floyd he was not liking it i don't care what the Mayweather fans say.

Looks like a Floyd points decision is the popular choice of members here.

they've already said that Hatton will train himself for 140lbs as mayweather will not enter the ring at more than 150lbs on the night anyhow. This is his best bet imo. Forget putting on fighting weight and concentrate on getting lean, building stamina and not much else. Hatton TKO imo, but mayweather ahead on points when it's stopped.

    Floyd by TKO

He is too fast and will be more than willing to engage Hatton, Ricky will try to wrestle and hit and hold, Floyd will spin him and counter and on the inside Ricky will eat a steady diet of uppercuts. Floyd will tear his face open like a paper bag, it will be a stoppage by the corner or doctor

Ricky has little defense and will be turned into the same Zombie that Floyd turns all his opponents into. Stalking and eating shots, then they get so gun shy about the counters coming back that they stop throwing and then after round 5 it will be Target practice for Floyd. Body shots 4-5 punch combos that will break Rickys will

Agreed JT, i see a similar fight going down.
I just think it's the sheer hatred for Floyd coupled with the insanely patritioc fanbase that Hatton carries that have some people giving Hatton a chance.
If anyone can pick up Boxing Monthly this month it's an excellent read..I really appreciated the writers honesty. Refreshingly unpatriotic and just BOXING taken into account when analysing this fight!

I like Ricky myself, but when you look at the logistics of the fight and style matchup, people drag fights out of the closet from 5 years ago(Castillo) and they fail to realize Floyd isint the same fighter than the style he has developed for himself in his prime. Castillo wasnt even 1/2 the fighter that Floyd fought. to me its not even a factor in the equation

I dont see Ricky having advantages in the speed, power, boxing skill and defense department. he isint even in the same league. He fought once uncomfortably at 147 and was LUCKY to scrape a win. Floyd has moved up to a fit 152 and fought and didnt fade, didnt get buzzed or rocked.

Floyds meanstreak will come out and he will pummel Ricky, Floyd isint trying to add another belt or weight division to his resume...So this fight and azz whoopin will be all pleasure for Floyd not business
