Now come fight night i have no doubt Ricky will be the heavier man and will be fighting Floyd at around 150 lbs, which is really the norm for all opponents who operate at 140. Other than the fact its officially for the 147 WBC Belt, it is really between two light Welterweights.

Now if Hatton wins or loses i dont see him campaiging at 147, it would just be plain stupid, guys who are fighting at 147 right now are to big for Ricky Cotto/Williams/Clintron etc etc, these guys come in around 160+ on fight night, all Ricky's advantages as a fighter are taken away, people will probably call him a bitch etc for running back down to 140, but why? He is not a big enough man to fight these men, Ricky is a pressure fighter who relies on his physical attributes to win fights.

But people who are saying this fight should be at 140, it doesn't really matter, in reality Floyd fights at 140 when he fights at Welterweight.
Are you kidding? There are reports that Hatton weighs anywhere between 155-160 coming into his 140 fights there is no way he only puts 3 pounds back on after the weigh-in at 147. Hopefully this time he has enough time to put on the weight properly unlike his Collazo fight where he "found out at the last minute" it was going to be at 147.
You obvioulsy didnt understand my post, he wont come in at 147, he will come in around 142/143, and against Castillo he was the lightesthe has been on fight night in his career at 149 i think it was, but thats my point he wont need to bulk up hes fighting a guy who will be weighing around 150 on fight night, so in truth he is fighting a Light Welterweight not a Welterweight hense why there is no problem fighting Floyd at 147. By the way he has never in his life weighed 160 lbs for a 140lb fight i dont no where you get that from
I agree completely, Skel

The weight will have no significant bearing on this fight. If it was against Mosley or DLH then of course I would factor that in. But not with Floyd. I cannot envisage Floyd fighting outside of 147 again to be honest. Even at 147 Floyd has to be at his cagey best with the big guns and Floyd sure isnt gonna have an easy time knocking them out. Hatton will come in at around 150 maximum against Floyds and thats ideal...
