I agree completely and that's why I said I'd actually have more respect for him if he did admit it than if he denied and got away with it.

Now at 21 he's old enough to know the seriousness of what he did and how wrong it was. He has a chance to man up, apologise for his actions and in so doing hopefully give his victim some sort of closure.

But if he denies it (presuming here that it did happen) he in effect is abusing her all over again and just adding to the misery and suffering he has caused.
