Both Carlos Zerate and Wilfredo Gomez have a 95% KO percentage.

I could be way off on this but I think Gomezes 32 KOs in a row is also a reccord. (Can someone confirm this please?)

Its got to be Willie-pep...I mean id be happy to argue peps credentials for the p4p best ever spot...im sure theres plenty who could probably agree aswell...if you consider most of his losses came after he was in a plane crash...Not that ive seen much of him with the few minutes of video footage i could
find he just sticks in my mind.... it would be much appreciated if anyone could get me a link to any footage of pep

Definately..He was one of the greatest that will ever live

    Consider this..

Your right in saying most of his losses came after a plane crash that many thought he should never have lived from, Five others died in that crash and he lived to fight on and not only fight on but fight something crazy like 70 odd fights after that..

Whats more the fact that the guy used to fight sometime 3/4 times a month.. SOMETIMES

    3 or 4 times a week..

And his record was still incredible then

If the man was in his prime within these past 20 odd years or even today and was fighting once every month or two months a guy like him could have been 100-0 against great competition..

    An utter legend

For me its gotta be the undefeated Marciano, but if I had an argument with myself, it would be to say, ey up lad Chavez what about him lol,

Then I would reply yeah but he got beat Rocky didn't, then Id reply yeah thats because he only had half as many fights or so....

Aaaaah then id get confused when a third me says ...scuse me what about Mr Pep.....then id go back to sleep after telling myself....oh shurrup just pick all listed lol,

But seriously tho, Rocky for me.......
And I dint mean Balboa lol..he is real ain't he...

According to "The Ring" magazine, this is the fourth-longest streak of all times. Gomez 32 KO include a TKO victory over the same Lupe Pintor (TKO-14) before his first lost by TKO against Salvador Sanchez. After that Gomez had 8 straight wins all by KO/TKO before winning his first decision against other Puerto Rican, Juan Laporte who never went to the canvas and faced the greatest names of his weight division. Before the decision with Laporte, Gomez record was 40 wins - 40 KO - 1 lost - 1 draw (his first pro-fight).

I have Gomez fights collection in DVD and I have to say that his was impressive...

Vitali Klitschko has a better KO percentage than pretty much anyone else I can think of.....only 1 guy went the distance with him!

I think Joe Louis' records are unattainable these days given politics and promoters and so many titles and whatever.

Willie Pep and Ray Robinson's feats could be accomplished but never on the same scale...JC Chavez Jr has a shot at having around 100 fights....but it's just so hard to stay in shape, not get cut, not get hurt, and pass the medical exams.

Willie Pep was in a plane crash and was boxing again that very same year 1947 I believe....that's a tough SOB!
