These are great news. Mosley is dangerous due to his speed and determination to win, but Cotto is stronger and also wants to win and be recognized as one of the best. Both like to fight and this promises to be a great fight. I think we will see a lot of body punches because we know that is Cotto's trade mark and Mosley is also a good body puncher. Speed vs. Strength, Experience vs. Youth. This will be a great fight, which I am hopping Cotto wins.

I dont see how Moselys style favors Cotto Cotto has never fought someone as complete as Mosely nor someone who is as physically imposing in Mosely.

Mosely's 4 loses were against a superb fighter in his prime Forrest and Hall Of Famer Winky Wright, Shane can Brawl and Brawl big time he is a solid pro and Hall Of Famer with outstanding Power, speed and skill to go along with an Helaciously sterdy chin and tremendous heart.. Imo Cotto is in a world of trouble if he trades with Shane. He aint Koing Shane and he isint outboxing him either. Cotto's only hope is to contantly jab Shane and frustrate him out of his game plan, keep him off balance and scrape out a SD. Other than that there is no way in hell he beats Mosely

I agree with you on everything you said about Mosley. I love watching that guy fight. He is complete. I take nothing away from him. But Cotto is younger, hungrier, and in his prime determined to fight anyone. Cotto is aggressive in fights and attacks like if there is no tommorrow. I truly think Mosley will win the early rounds by moving and picking his shots, cobination here-combination there, but I honestly believe he will not move for 12 rounds and will begin to let Cotto fight inside beginning rounds 4-6, Mosley will start to show frustration as he begins to fight Cotto's fight. Cotto's jab will be effective in the middle to late rounds and will steal many rounds and win a close but Unanimous decision.
I think you are wrong, and I think Mosley will win a tough fight, but I threw you a CC anyway for making a pretty good, detailed case for Cotto. Cotto has a decent jab, but the fighters who have troubled Mosley are fighters with GREAT jab - Forrest and Winky. Yeah, Cotto is younger, hungrier, etc, but Mosley is no Zab Judah. He does everything Judah does well better. I like Cotto, but he's going to get hit early, often, and cleanly by Mosley and he won't be able to impose his physical strength on Mosley the was he was able to with Judah.

With all do respect, Mosley is a great fighter at lightweight. He is only a good fighter at the welterweights. 30 of his 37 ko's came at lightweight.

Mosley has worn down slightly and many have not been able to pick it up yet. Cotto's camp has and are going to take advantage. Trust me on this one, Cotto will win. Cotto will win. It's gonna be a great fight, but Cotto will win. Trust me.
I like your analysis, Mosley was a great Lightweight Champion, one of the best ever!
At Welterweight he was good and has two wins against a prime DLH although one of those wins was a gift. His power was certainly diminshed at 154 and that is evident by his lack of KO success recently.
I see this fight as being similar to KT v Hatton, Mosley is 35 and is going up against the young Lion in Cotto who is younger, hungrier and probably more powerful than Mosley at this stage of their careers.
I like Sugar Shane and i think he has been a credit to the sport of boxing and he is still a very dangerous opponent for Cotto but i feel he will be overpowered by Cotto in the later rounds and i see a win for Cotto by UD or late stoppage. Either way i know Mosley will give his all and Cotto will get one hell of a fight!
You couldn't have said it any better. Nice post.

Only problem with that theory is that Cotto isn't stronger than Shane, Shane hits harder, has a more complete game, and has a better chin.

But, Cotto is younger, hungrier, and with a 35 yo fighter, you never know when they are going to turn old before your eyes, no matter how well they are conditioned. Still, if I'm getting even money, I would put it on Shane.

This will prove if he is an elite fighter or just another Arturo Gatti.

Win or lose I will still cheer for him. His power is amazing to watch.
No matter what happens in this fight, no matter how badly Cotto could potentially be outclassed, outslugged, beaten up... He's already proven to be a much better fighter than Gatti ever was. Gatti would've been easily KO'ed by anything resembling a p4p equivalent of Mosley at any point in either of their careers. He would never have stood a chance against a Zab Judah or Malignaggi either. Not to take away from what a warrior Gatti was, but Cotto can never be called another Gatti based on what he's already shown in the ring.
Okay perhaps Gatti was the wrong example. (I do love watching Gatti fights btw.) CC for the feedback

it dould be reminiscent of Mosley vs De La Hoya. This time an older Mosley and a more powerful Cotto.

    I go for Cotto.

As with all fighters, it depends on which one shows up that night for Mosely. If he's on his game, I think he could make it an early night for Cotto. I just don't think his (Cotto's) chin will hold up to it. If a more brawling style Mosely shows up, Cotto could end it early. I know Mosely has a great beard but getting hit that hard and that often has a way of turning even the sturdiest fighter's legs to jelly.

Either way, I don't see this making it to the final bell.

I wont be upset with either guy winning, two legitimately great fighters, two nice guys, two guys who train incredibly hard....This sort of fight is why i love boxing.
