wheres the link man.. but if this is indeed true, i would call boomboom a coward and a punk. nobody retires from boxing just coz u lost once.. especially if your just 21 years old and you didnt suffer any injuries.

I doubt he is really retiring. That was by far his biggest stage and he got knocked out first round. He is feeling devastated he worked his way up and now he's got to re-prove himself again.

sorry man. i just heard the news from a tv station. am looking for the written news but haven't found one yet. maybe, tomorrow they will post it in their web site. nevertheless, if this is true, Boom boom is really badly damaged.... psychologically.

a radio station reported that because of Bautista's defeat, his hometown of Candijay would not be getting a paved road leading into town. Provincial Governor Erico Aumentado promised before Bautista's fight the road would be paved by 2008 if he brought home the title. On Sunday, Aumentado pushed the road-paving date back to 2010 and blamed Bautista's loss.

I'd tell the governer to stick it up moon river, fight under a different flag next time. truth be told.
