They've got nothing on thier calender except for Castillo/Corrales III.
HBO has been picking it up as of late.

I've lost a lot of respect for HBO. If Mcbride fought Ruiz, they'd probably try to put it on PPV. I never used to like Showtime as much as I did HBO, but now at least they seem to be keeping things in perspective when they do show fights.
HBO puts damn near everything on PPV. Even when its a mediocre match up, they say "but look at the undercard!!!! its full of good fighters" Then how come a week later they only show the mediocre headling bout. The only time they will show one ofthe undercard bouts is if the headlining bout ends very prematurely. Otherwise we get 30 minutes of what Lamply thought, what merchant thought, What many Steward thought and what Ledderman thought. When we pretty much got that listening to the commentary during the fight.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

I bet Gatti/Baldomir will be on regular HBO as well.
CC, I stand corrected... for now. However i will say that i think of those might have been on PPV .. even a if it was cheap PPV if Juarez looked better, Frietas didnt look so bad in his beating fro Corrales a while back. If it wasnt Hattons Debut... and you sure Taylor / Winky aint PPV? Was sure HBO would be trying to get as much as they could for that fight.

I think HBO are finally taking a hit to try and get some mainstream fans back, which I thought they should for a long time.. Just show some big name, good fights on regular HBO then maybe the next big PPV will sell alot better? THat's what I think they are doing.
Who cares about if they may have been on PPV? They are not.Originally Posted by J_Undisputed

It's a reaction to SHO having kicked their @$$ of late.
Competition is keeping them honest.
Yup. But hey, I'll take it.Originally Posted by FLH2o

TRUE! the last couple of years SHOWTIME has been mopping HBO with better fights that we give a F about. But recently HBO's upcoming line up seems to have improved significantly. I agree with PPV only if its a mega fight that deserves to be on PPV. But............... I still love the dancing stripper hizzoes in the intro to SHOWTIME Boxing ahhaha and so do alot of you!![]()
