I see your point, and I've heard the argument. He's not expected to win, so why not? I guess it depends on how the fight goes down. If Tito loses, but gives a good account of himself, who knows? What I do agree with is Tito's legacy. He doesn't need to prove anything, IMO. He's done it all. Here's hoping he's got one more great victory left in him.
Yea, he doesn't have anything to lose in a sense, legacy wise I suppose... But in another, he does.. He could be in some excellent fights and could likely do very well at 160.. I'm assuming he can't make 154 as that would be the wisest choice.. But by fighting Roy jones at 170, I have to agree with your original post Titofan... I don't see any sense behind it. Sure it would be something if he won, but at the same time nothing too spectacular sence people already write off Jones as being shot or having no chin and being gunshy etc.. I would have to imagine Tito would indeed get a ton of credit for pulling it out. But I don't see that happening at all. Jones Jr hits way harder than anyone he's fought, and is also faster and a bigger man than anyone he's ever fought. Even in his years. And if Tito loses, he won't really have anywhere to go, so I see completely what you mean as to it being ammunition for his detractors.. They'll just say he got beat by every great fighter he ever faced, and retired after each time. The fact that he showed the heart of a lion by stepping up in weight and taking on the 3 ATG's that he did in their division will not receive as much attention. I can see why as a big fan of him this move pisses you off.. Id also like to see him back in the mix as a title contender at 160 or SMW.
