    Default Your Favorite Fighter

My favorite fighter would have to be George Foreman, because his fights were always fun to watch and most of the time he would knock someone out.

I have favorite fighters and the order i have them in changes regularly.

Ali, Duran, Olivares, Gomez, Sanchez, Monzon, Leonard, Hearns, Pryor, Arguello, Mancini, Tapia,
70's Foreman, Frazier, Holmes, Foster, Nelson, Fenech, late 90's DLH, Mosley, RJJ, Tito, Cotto,
    Tszyu, Hatton, PBF.
It's hard to judge the old school fighters without seeing a lot of footage, obviously from what i have seen of Sugar Ray Robinson on film he was outstanding.

Can only narrow it down to 4-

Sugar Shane Mosley - For his speed, power, footwork and the fact that he never let money wavour his choice of opponents, he only wanted to fight the best even if it meant he got a smaller purse.

Ricky Hatton - For his sheer work rate, determination and the way he condicts himself out the ring.

Winky Wright - The master of defence with a ram rod of a jab

Muhammad Ali- For obvious reasons, the man is a legend
    Nothings Sweeter Than Sugar

Loved the way Hearns fought, he could punch & box. Got a bit of a theory about Hearns, I think he would have been a better fighter if he had less power. The fact that he had such a powerful right hand was often his downfall. He used to get involved in fights more than he needed. He should never have lost to Barkley & IMO he could have outboxed Hagler if he'd stuck to that tactic rigidly.

He wouldn't have been so exciting to watch though.

I use to love Tapia and Angel Manfredy. They weren't exactly all time greats but they shure were real fun to wach.

Mike Tyson in his day was one of the most exciting fighters to wach. It wasn't who was going to win with him, it was, lets see how long this bum is going to last? It usually was not long.

Hearns was another great fighter with a great style. I agree with the earlier poster. When I see Hearns I see a fighter who could've been greater than Leonard.

Shane Mosley is always exiting and will fight anybody.

Fernando Vargas, IMO hugely underrated after his loss to Tito. This man has wins over Campas, Marquez, Winky Wright and Quartey. Good fighter that could have been a great if he had been brought up just a little slower.

Felix Trinidad Just an awsome offensive arsenal, almost unstoppable at 147 & 154. He is considered by many a one haded fighter but his right hand can put you out just as quick as his left. IMO the best WW of his era.

My all time favorite fighter is James Toney. He had that mean, sinsiter attitude that I love in fighters. He was cocky, like I love to see in fighters. He talked more trash that just about anyone but usually backed it up. The guy was a warrior, he ducked no one, he feared no man.

Watching Toney fight is a thing of beauty. The defensive skills were just magnificent. And unlike most defensive wizards, Toney would knock guys the fuck out (at least at the lower weights).

    Retired fighters

Muhammad Ali - I loved how quick he was and how smooth he moved around the ring. Liston, Frazier, Foreman, Norton, Patterson and having never been knocked out is one hell of a resume.

Sugar Ray Leonard - For the same reason I loved Ali. It was amazing to watch him flurry. Between Duran, Hearns, Hagler, Leonard is the only one to have wins against all those three names.

Thomas Hearns - Boxer plus his straight right hand, how can you not like him?

Mike Tyson - I grew up watching him. I've never been such a big fan of someone i was scared of. I just loved how he came into people and just unloaded with no regard for the other person.

Erik Morales - He's just exciting. A boxer who loves to brawl!

    Current Fighters

Manny Pacquiao - I love fighters who hit and get hit. I dont think anyone can match his combination of speed and power. His fights are worth the money you pay for it.

Floyd Mayweather - I dont think he's an exciting fighter to watch, but I cant help but respect his athleticism and boxing ability.

Ricky Hatton - Body punchers have always appealed to me. Ricky just comes in and unloads to the mid-section with ferocity.
