He then fights other top contenders eg Holyfield suffering a points defeat. Now Foreman at the age of 45, won the world heavyweight title and fights other top guys of that era and beats them. Basically a 45 year old man holds his own against guys who are at least 15 years his junior and supposedly the best fighters in the world. Now the question has to be asked is, if was good enough to do this at the age of 45, then how good must have been when he was 25 ? He was 25 when he lost Ali, and Ali was 32 so how good must have Ali been when he was 25 ?
Tyson did not harder than Foreman. He was a Frazier without Smokin Joe's heart. Tyson was a GREAT 'on top' fighter. When he could bully his opponent he looked sensational but ANYTIME Tyson got taken into the trenches, and had to dig deep. When he had to fight against an opponent in a close fight. He lost EVERYTIME. B.Douglas, L.Lewis, E.Hoyfield. K.McBride, D.Williams. Tyson has NEVER won a REALLY hard fight. A fight where he was cut or hard to pick himself up from the floor. He was never involved in a Thriller in Manila. Ali would take Tyson into deep waters and drown him. Remember Ali biggest weapon was chin and his amazing ability to take a punch. His ability to be able to recuperate his senses quicker than most fighters. There is no way in hell Tyson would knock out Ali, even a 74 Ali (Who was slightly past his best by then) would beat Tyson, but a 67 Ali, the man who fought Cleveland Williams, if he fought Tyson then he would beat Tyson easily. I am a Tyson fan but if Tyson had the heart of a Holyfield then I think it would be a 50/50 match up
