I find it so funny that some people have this delusional idea that Hamed was a great fighter. Hamed was a great ENTERTAINER. And we should all respect him for bringing that to the sport. But he was never a great fighter. A great fighter in my opinion exhibits more than just skill or a strong punch. Great fighters posses intelligence in the ring, they are able to rise to big occasions, they are able to adapt, and they most importantly....are able to stay focused and prepared for a good part of their career...especially in those big moments. Hamed certainly showed glimpses of great power and some fancy showmanship...but ultimately that's about it. Barrera showed him that it takes a lot more than strong punch and some good reflexes to be considered a great champion. As for people who say Hamed wasn't focused...or if he was more serious, etc. etc......that right there is a perfect example of why he shouldn't be considered a great fighter. But i think it's more a matter of Barrera being a much better fighter. He put on a clinic and in some ways exposed Hamed and broke his spirit.
