Not to shit on anyone's opinon, but I always hear people say "ohh roy wasn't a big puncher, he was just fast. He caught guys when they weren't expecting it, ect." Ok, but if speed is such a huge factor in power, how do you explain guys like Paul Maglinaggi? Or Pernell Whitaker?

Roy had great power IMO. He started his career at 154, and even at 175 he showed he could knock a guy out with 1 punch if he wanted to. He even hurt 240lb John Ruiz with a punch. The fact is in the latter half of his career he was not a guy who wanted to go for the KO as he was very cautious, which causes people to underrate his power. "Ahhh he went the distance with that guy, his power aint what its cracked up to be", but in the post fight interview after the Hanshaw bout, he alluded to the fact that he doesn't want to knock a guy out.

I mean just look at his body, he had an extremely powerful body. Muscular legs/calves, broad shoulders like a football player, biceps like coconuts. The guy had some power. Look at his fights against Virgil Hill, Serwano, Wolfe, Griffen, ect. The guy had power, expecially in those lower weights. He put Merqui Sosa right on his ass and he had an incredible chin.

The same thnig is happening to Floyd Mayweather now. People are talking about how he can't punch for shit, but they forget at the start of his career he was considered a 1-punch KO guy, and he raised hell in those smaller divisions.
