Serves that cheating Mofo right I was a fan of Hopkins but after that cheating display and dirty exhibition and shady judging scoring a lopsided desicion for Hopkins, when he just squeeked by Winky was enough to turn me off from him

I enjoyed the fight but I'm glad Hopkins is getting fined: that "pre fight" scuffling is boring, overused and LAME, and needs to be cut out.

If you're going to have a prefight scuffle, make it interesting. Larry Holmes lept into the heart of millions by leaping off a car and dropkicking Trevor Berbick. That was what I call pre fight fireworks. This shoving bullshit is just lame.

Exactly, these decisions should not be arbitrary. There should be standardized rules about this thing happening throughout the sport.

Hopkins is being made an example of for a shallow pantomime show.

These people talk about being professional and setting standards yet somehow it's o.k. for guys like Mayorga to smoke cigarettes and talk about opponents looking like baby bottoms, not to mention sleeping with their wives after the fight and punching people when they are sitting down, and that's o.k. It was levied by the Nevada Athletic Comission, it was the official weigh in taking place in Nevada and they were within jurisdiction. The other examples given(Mayorga, Vargas etc) you dont know where the altercations took place and what jurisdiction it fell on.

It was the NAC perrogative and right to fine Hopkins, and they did

I think the fine is well deserved but if they are going to fine Hopkins how about a fine for Mayorga?...All of these guys should get fines once they decide to act up and use their hands or even go out of bounds with insults....You don't pay you don't fight
