Lewis was Champion from the moment he beat Briggs, until his retirement, minus the spell between the two Rahman fights.

Vitali and Wlad were both #1 contenders to Lewis at one time or another.

As for the 13 round thing, the NABF did a experiment in the late 80s, where if a fight was scored a draw, an extra round was boxed to decide the winner.

I give Byrd credit for being a small guy in a big man's game. He's not great. I give Wlad credit for being one of the better fighters in a bankrupt division. He ain't great either.

The whole damn situation is depressing. I hear people talking about him reviving the heavies. Just take a look at the record of the guy who is gonna do that.

    It's just sad.

he only lost to sanders cuz he was countered early in the fight with a hard shot, and the ring was too small for him to stay away

and in the other losses it was a stamina issue

Oh, is that the only reason. So basically he lost because he couldn't handle the pressure, then he was out of shape. True signs of greatness.

Reminds me of this big British/Canadian/Jamican fella

As for who would of won without the cut in Vitali/Lewis; I do not think anyone can answer that, it is like saying what if Frazier had not been knocked out by Foreman? What if Kirkand Laing had not walked into Buck Smith's right hand?

Lewis victory was by totally legit means, Vitali was cut up by Lewis' punches, and us Brits should know, after all many of our fighters have suffered the exact same type of defeat. You suck it up, accept your man was beaten, and hopefully see him comeback and redeem himself one day

agreed Lewis beat Vitali by TKO which was the right decision, we talk about how refs let fights go to far, how bad would boxing have looked if that cut got even worse in the next couple of rounds?
and all this talk of what if, you could say the same about Ali v Cooper, would Cooper have won if it wasn't 4 the cuts? it doesn't matter cause the fact is he was cut!
