I gotta disagree Old George was pretty damn close to the ferocious puncher he was in his younger days, his cross armed defense he developed from Archie Moore was a huge bullet in his gun, the younger George had one of the worst defenses for such a celebrated champion. Young George was wide open and would get tattooed coming in and would get broken down mentally by the smarter more determined older George. And after 3 rounds when he couldn't KO the old man he would start getting the self doubt that someone could absorb his punches and punishment, and then counter with bludgeoning shots I think old George would take the piss out of him mentally and then go on to doing it physically
