I don't care much for Floyd, but he his handling the business side well. Hatton was ripe for the picking from a money perspective. Floyd probably watched the Castillo fight in Vegas with all those Brits making the trip, all that atmosphere, and heard the cash register ringing. After that, assuming he wins, I think you'll most likely see him fight the Cotto-Moseley winner next spring. Whoever wins that bout will be much more valuable to Floyd coming off a huge win than they are right now.
As far as Floyd ducking Margarito for Baldomir...nah. That is revisionist history. At the time, people wanted him to face one of the two and both had a pretty much equal air of danger. Hard as it is to believe now, a lot of people were giving Baldomir a good chance to win that fight because of his size and pressure. It made more sense to fight him because he was the lineal welterweight champ and was coming off high profile wins over Judah and Gatti, plus he had that whole Cinderella Man thing going on which people always eat up. Margarito had no one on his resume with that sort of name recognition, so he did not have as much to offer Floyd. I think if Margarito had beaten Williams, then beaten Cotto, you would have seen that fight materialize.
Just my two cents.
