I find it so funny that some people have this delusional idea that Hamed was a great fighter. Hamed was a great ENTERTAINER. And we should all respect him for bringing that to the sport. But he was never a great fighter. A great fighter in my opinion exhibits more than just skill or a strong punch. Great fighters posses intelligence in the ring, they are able to rise to big occasions, they are able to adapt, and they most importantly....are able to stay focused and prepared for a good part of their career...especially in those big moments. Hamed certainly showed glimpses of great power and some fancy showmanship...but ultimately that's about it. Barrera showed him that it takes a lot more than strong punch and some good reflexes to be considered a great champion. As for people who say Hamed wasn't focused...or if he was more serious, etc. etc......that right there is a perfect example of why he shouldn't be considered a great fighter. But i think it's more a matter of Barrera being a much better fighter. He put on a clinic and in some ways exposed Hamed and broke his spirit.

I never really liked Hamed for his big mouth , but Marco just takes him to school and shows what a great fighter he is , and has an ability to adapt his style for different opponents. This is something Hamed could not do , he had no plan B , i did find it very watchable as it shows a fighter with a sound technique will triumph over a LIMBO DANCER WITH POWER every time
I just wish it had been PACMAN catching Hamed
But anyway you guys tell me your views please

Personally MAB being one of my all time favourite fighters was fighting a unmotivated untrained shadow of his former self in Prince Nazeem Hamed, im not taking anything away from MAB, but the Naz in the ring that night was not the best of him far from it, he was slow predictable and was only throwing single punches. Just my take on it.
Thats just plain WRONG. How could naz not be motivated for the biggest fight of his life? The reason he wasnt at his best was because Barrera wouldnt let him be at his best, and was giving him a pasting. Face it, that was the best naz ever got, and when he fought a top line opponent he got beaten. That is the Truth.
You are taking away from MAB.
    Agreed.

    Naz said to himself,
"I trained my *ss off and did the best I can, and I still got my *rse kicked... I need to get out of this profession!!!"
You never saw "Little Prince Big Fight" did you

Hamed didn't train at all for this fight and was even beat around by his sparring partners, he did. He deserved to lose. You don't half your training for a living legend like Barerra. The only person he can blame is himself
Really shows the lack of heart from Naz aswell because he didn't even really try and get a rematch or ect Barrera was battered by Junior Jones and he comeback twice as strong it was only one loss Naz had i would have respected Naz alot more had he taken rematch against Barrera or even against one of the top boys even if he would of lost i would of respected him more.
It doesn't show a lack of heart, look at someone like Trinidad.
Trinidad had fought a lot more top guys than naz, and had a much greater legacy. He had moved up 13 pounds in weight from his best division. Stupid comparison.
No, he fought more "Name" guys in his weight division then Naz. Just because Hamed's opponents weren't names doesn't mean they weren't top guys. People mistake names for class, the people who Hamed beat were the number one people in that weight class so he fought the best that division had to offer he won every single world title in that weight class didn't he? So then he fought top guys. Just because they didn't have a name doesn't mean they weren't top guys. So Trinidad beat more 'name' fighters but Hamed beat the top fighters in that division and he lost to an all time great and retired, no shame in that.

Especially if us Cotto fans are already saying that if Cotto loses to Shane he loses to an all time great and it doesn't take away from what he already did right?
