I think it is pretty obvious that Oscar will fight Hatton at 147 next. Regardless of what happends in December. It is not like a loss in the opponents record has ever stopped DLH before. And there is no guarantee that the winner of Hatton/Maywether will fight the winner of Cotto/Mosley. This is just an ideal scenario for us boxing fans but many times boxing is not that simple and things get in the way. How many of us, myself included, were calling the hole Williams/Margarito/Cotto/Judah fights a tournament?

It is likely that if Mosley wins and if Maywether wins they may fight. But there is one very big if and one possibly troublesome if here and it is still not a done deal that it will happen.

I am 100% sure that Maywether did not bring more money to the table than DLH did. This is all part of the plan. DLH wants Ricky to fight Maywether. It give Ricky huge exposure to the american public. The best case scenario for him is to fight a smaller man who will bring the fight to him and has just beaten the #1 P4P. A victory will give him that all elusive career defining win against a top fighter in his prime. The worst scenario is to fight the smaller man who just fought the #1P4P fighter and gained more american popularity to add to his already huge fan base for trying to make a fight against PBF. Either way the fight will be a huge money maker.

All the talk from DLH, the move down to 147, the rumors about Wimbley arena, it all points to one thing. Oscar Dela Hoya vs Ricky Hatton sometime early next year.
