    Default Calderon vs. Cazares (My scorecard's)

    Alright I've ONLY watched and scored the fight twice.
    1st and foremost I gotta say I wanna see it again, but I'm not sure if we will. Cazares is obviously struggling making weight and I personally don't think he can drag himself down again. If he does credit to him for doing so.
    What a fight it was, action from begining to end. I loved every second of it.

    So here are my score cards.

    The 1st time I watched it with the sound OFF and heres how I scored it.

    Calderon: 10 9 9 10 10 9 9 8 9 10 10 9 = 113
    Cazares : 9 10 10 9 9 10 10 10 10 9 9 10 = 115


    *Round 6 was a very close round but my biased way told me to give it to Cazares on the harder punches.
    **Round 8 has to be scored 10-8 due to the knockdown.
    *** I was VERY tempted to give Calderon 8 points for the way he fought the 9th round If my calculations are correct he didn't throw more then 7 punches in that round. But I told my biased ways to relax so I just scored it 10-9.

    I would also like to ask why NO ONE mentioned the 'ol infamous 'loose tape trick'
    Thats the oldest trick in the book, next to mixing up water in a bottle.

    Havent seen it yet but my buddy claims that Cazares won. He's Mexican too tho I uploaded the first part (took an hour) just figured out how to play it, and am gonna watch it now and dl pt 2.

    Sup buddy. I's usually not that biased of PR boxers but here is my pick

    Calderon: 10 10 10 10 10 10 9 8 9 10 10 10 = 116
    Cazares : 9 9 9 9 9 9 10 10 10 9 9 9 = 111

    But round 7 and 12 could go either way.

    PS. For my Sad click buddies. This guy ( Calderon) made PBF looked like a pu$$y.
    HE came up and fough the best fighter in that weight div. and Hugo Cazares is one of the best Mexican boxers at this time. Power, Boxing ability, Speed and stamina and of course intelligenge with heart.

    This is the reason I have Calderon in a Pedestal after this fight. in a re-match I will still have mix feelings about it

    I pretty much agree with your second scorecard

    I've only watched it once, thought it was a brilliant fight and felt that Calderon was putting on a clinic until he got hit in the 8th.

    From memory I probably gave all the first 6 rounds to Calderon, my thought's whilst watching it was 'Wow this little child man is whupping some ass!! '

    Then he got it and hurt, definitely lost round 8 10-8 and definitely lost round 9. The last three were really exciting rounds I thought, Cazares stalking, but Calderon looking good under pressure. I seem to remember Calderon winning the last but 10 and 11 I may have given to Cazares.

    So overall probably a 116-111 or 115-112 pretty much how you had it.

    Also if I knew for sure Calderon won I would say it. IMO this has nothing to do with the countries. I put that aside I score the fight how I saw it both times.
    That's the thing I'm not sure who won the fight it was that close.

    Una cosa si es sierta y es que siempre que se enfrentan Mexico contra Puerto Rico la peleas son incomparables, los dos peleadores lo dejan todo en el quadrilatero.
    Para mi el round #6 fue el mas dificil de calificar estuvo muy cerrado y los dos pelearon muy bien.

    Thanks for your input and I'm really glad to hear you speaketh this wayth about the Miniture Warrios.
    I personally didn't think Calderon took all the 1st 6 rounds. I know round #2 I scored it for Hugo on both with and without the sound.
    And as I've said to me round 6 was the hardest round to score they both boxed well and it was a back and forth round.

    115-113 Cazares. He landed the harder punches and came forward all night. Also I think round 8 should of been scored 10-7. Since I think the knock down that was ruled a slip was legit.

    You bring up a very good point. There was 3 possible knockdowns. 1 was ruled officially 2 were ruled by the ref. as pushes. 1 the 1st one was wow! I mean Calderon was already going down so I mean there was a couple things there that all depending on you is how you would rule the matter.

    Sucks..part one cuts off on me right after ring intros..then part 2 wont even work at all....damn. I still have yet to see this fight...

    A fight of the year contender imo. Congrats to both fighters for the great fight,Calderon is a defensive master and Cazares is the quintessential pressure fighter,and BOTH showed tremendous heart.

    How the heck Hugo lost 13 pounds in a week and put up a performance like that,it puts guys who use being drained as an excuse to shame. He should move up in weight though,just for health reasons. Here's my scorecard,on second viewing(first time,I didn't keep a card but appeared to me Iron Boy won clearly)

    So I had Calderon winning 8 rounds BUT I noticed quite a few discrepancies and close rounds. Observe:

    Round 4,Calderon wobbled Cazares and it LOOKED like Hugo's glove touched the canvas but I could not see from the camera angle.

    Round 6 was close and could have gone either way.

    Round 7,a knockdwon could have been called for Hugo because I think it was the ropes which held Ivan up.

    In Round 8,there was 2 knockdowns for Hugo but only 1 was called. I thought both were knockdowns.

    Round 9,there could have been another knockdown called but again,it was not clear and looked like Hugo pulled Ivan's hed down but Ivan did look stunned.


    It was a cacking fight and I'd LOVE to see a rematch BUT I don't think Hugo can make the weight safely. However,rumour has it that Ivan will either unify with a champ at this weight or move up and fight for another title!!! Remember where you heard it

    Ok since I recorded the fight into a DVD. I use Nero to change it to a .mpg but its size is 2.98 GB

    How I do to edit the video with what program so it will be a lot smaller
