I agree that a lot people are sheep and are quick to jump and follow a "cause" like you were saying...then drop it once it's not longer popular.

But there were a lot of animal rights activists before the whole Vick case and they are always very outspoken. And to be fair i'm sure a lot of PETA members are vegetarians. I dont think they are hypocrites for the most part, but they are kind of extreme.

Deer and other hunted animals are usually killed and used for food, or like you said maybe a coat. Dogs are domesticated and dependent on people for survival. It is cruel when there is something dependent on you and you choose to neglect and torture it. So hunting is not as bad as just killing for the sake of killing or for entertainment. I think getting shot is a more humane way to die then getting mauled to death for the entertainment of gamblers, and at least wild animals get to live some sort of "real" life in the wild before they are killed.

If I had to slaughter my own animals to eat them I would likely be a vegetarian. Though If I was lost in the woods and starving or something I would kill and eat whatever I could. So I dont really judge about it because I know most people would do either depending on the situation.

I am no vegetarian, but if it's possible I think things should be treated as humanely as possible before getting killed.

Like with free-range meat at least the animals get to be outside and pasture and mature with their "peers" before they are slaughtered and are not locked in a cramped, dark, dingy cell in a factory which is all it knew in its life before being slaughtered.

That is why I eat meat and I am still against dog fighting. I give you a CC though because I agree people are fickle and easy to sway and know where you are coming from with your argument, but there are worse things to follow/believe in then animal rights.
