Is it aq different disk color like blue? The original ps2 models might not be compatible with them either than or as listed above your laser could be jacked. If you're going to get another ps2 before a ps3, I'd recommend the slim version because the lasers on those are amazing. It reads anything, even games the original ps2 I had wouldn't even attempt to.
