Harris coming back into it.
Harris coming back into it.
Or maybe not.
Round 7:
Harris misses a hook, but gets in a straight right, Witter clinches. Witter looking to use the jab, but gets caught then sends back two wide hooks of his own. They trade hooks. Harris with a decent right, but a huge Witter left hook, and Harris is down. It's all over. Huge finisher from Witter. Then he kisses his "guns". Lifted to his trainers shoulders, and a very impressive performance from Witter.
Great work SHR. Thanks...
I'm never drinking again (I am a liar)
honestly, if he fights magalini next they should both be banned form boxing
I've been one of the first to get on Witter's back for his previous two performances especially, but this one was a very good performance from him, although there were a few flashes of inactivity. AS they swapped shots in the corner, Harris rolled out with his chin up, and Witter put in a fantastic left hook, and a right hook as Harris went down.
1:00 of the 7th round. My one worry was the fact that Dominic ngle was in the ring before the ten count was finished, but it was obvious that Harris was all done.
Witter says: "He took a lot of shots, and many fighters would have stayed down for the first time. But that second shot when it came, it was sweet.
"I've had shitloads of stick coming into this fight, and I think I've proved a lot of people wrong. I had a lot of niggles coming into this fight, but I'd put in the training and I wasn't going to pull out. I am the man, thank you.
"I'll have to have another look at it, but it felt very good to me."
Witter's promoter also said that the next fight he wanted to make was against Paulie Malignaggi, and he claimed: "It's the biggest fight possible in the Light-Welterweight division."
That was impressive by Witter. At least till he reverts back to normal, I'm a fan. I'd like to see him fight Hatton now. That fight has to happen.
That was the best ive ever seen Witter . Viv came into the fight with a decent reputation but he got owned from start to finish and got badly knocked out .
Impressive stuff . No wonder hes the avoided one.
Saf Witter was very impressive tonight. Would be a good fight.Originally Posted by SalTheButcher
Except for that sixth round where Harris finally showed some desire for the fight, Witter was wholly dominant. However, the one thing I would say is that it is not for this performance Witter is avoided, it is because he has been in quite a few dull fights, but hopefully this will change things.Originally Posted by GAME
that was a good win for witter, nothing more.
He looked good, fast jab, and was able to land good power shots against an easy to hit guy.
World class? fuck no. Witter can not throe or land good combos. he leads with his fast jab, and hurt harris when harris was swinging widly. Whenw itter tried to lead or throw good combos he missed widly and got caught... his trainier calle dout paulie? hahaha paulie doesn;t have the power to KO wittier but by christ will he school him over 12 rounds.
Impressive win. Did not look or sound like a title fight though I could not get exited.
Well done Witter
I think Hatton has moved onto bigger and better things, i mean win or loose against Floyd, where would he go ? Back down to 140 to fight Witter? maybe a big fight at city's stadium or maybe he will stay at 147 and fight either Mosley or Cotto.
That was fucking painful to watch. Can't stand that little bastard. It just pisses me off hearing "i'm the best 140 pounder in the world" when it's fucking clear to the world that he's not. Part of me wants Hatton to keep telling him "no" because Witter doesn't deserve it, but there is a big part of me that wants Hatton to just accept and knock the shit outta him.
