Former heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko will be out from four-to-six weeks following arthroscopic back surgery on Saturday night. While warming up, Klitschko felt a sharp pain in his back. He was operated on the same night by Dr. Klaus Twerdy at the University Clinic in Innsbruck, Austria, to relieve a herniated disc. "This is unbelievably bad luck," said Klitschko. "I've been in intense preparations for 9 weeks, had no problems whatsoever, and then a disc goes and slips in my last week of training. I was in prime shape, and was looking forward so much to my match. I feel especially bad for our TV partner and for my fans who were looking forward to the broadcast or who had bought tickets for the match in Munich. Now I'll have to wait and see how it heals and then plan the next steps with my team."
