The only problem is the $$$ between the promoters involved but the IBF has said the fight should take place, possibly on the Vargas Mayorga undercard.

Id like to see Collazo win this one, he's had a bad run. Iv liked him as a boxer since his fight with Hatton (funnily enough as im a rabid Ricky fan,) so i hope that he utilises his full potential and wins this. A problem could be that he just doesnt throw enough, (thats what i feel cost him against both Hatton and Mosely.)
But Good luck to him.

I'm a big fan of collazo as well, i hope to see him break this little slump....

I'm a big fan of Collazo's too, but I don't think he's going to win. Clottey believes he is elite and it's just the rest of us who haven't realized it yet. Clottey is going to bang bang bang away at Luis' body until the slickster isn't so slick and his already solid chin won't be bothered by Collazo's pitty-pat power.
Oops
Clottey and Collazo are both excellent fighters but neither are elites at 147 in my opinion.
I fancy Luis to win this fight via split but it will be close. Clottey hits fairly hard but not massively so and I'm not sure how good he is at catching someone elusive like Luis. Collazo is not a huge puncher but he has very fast, accurate, short sharp punches and is excellent at countering.
I don't think Clotteys style is good for chasing an elusive fighter. It's better for either standing his ground and trading or being chased. It'll be an excellent fight either way.
I'm going with Clotey to win this in a close fight
Just shows how stacked the WW division is, that these guys aren't at the top of the ladder.. Both damn good boxers, I think this will be one hell of a fight. Your right that Clottey might not be as effective vs someone slick, as all we've really seen him shine against are rugged come forward bangers, Baldo, Margartio, Corrales etc. But Collazo isn't exactly a Pernell Whittaker, he stands his ground and fights in the pocket alot of the time as well, I can't really pick a winner here. I guess I'm leaning slightly towards Clottey wearing him down to the body and coming on big late in the fight, but each guy bring a lot to the table that the other have never seen.. The easy pick for me, is that either of these guys will beat Cintron, least imo. I give Kermit a better chance against Collazo as he may have enough power to take the wheels of Luis early on. I think Clottey would just hang tough with Cintron and break him down slowly.Originally Posted by El Gamo

I understand what you are saying about Collazo but when he stands and trades(watch teh Rivera fight at times and the Gonzalez fight) he usually fires his punches and is gone again. The times Rivera was scoring points is when he was trapping Luis on the ropes.Another thing against Clottey is his activity levels.Sometimes,he's far far too passive. He can be outworked. And he tends to gass during the stretch,I think these definitely work against him here.
The only part I disagree with totally is the Cintron part. I'm a bit of an undercover Kermit fan and I think he is a great fighter and the strongest puncher in the diivsion. In fact,I think he has P4P power. I personally think he would have more problems with Collazo because I'm not sure how he would do against someone slick.
Against Clottey,Cintron would have the chance to let his bombs go and he would land on Joshua, and in my thinking,I don't think anyone can stand in front of Cintron and hope to win a war(except Tony and maybe Cotto_) Joshua leaves himself open to the body and thats what Kermit would target allllll night long. Clottey's handsped would cause problems for Cintron but I think his power would win the fight for him.
Clottey will stop Collazo and will stop Cintron.
I think Collazo wins it.
I think Cintron is a bit overrated, I mean really... Was his knocking out Walter Mathysee or some Suarez guy supposed to be that impressive or indicative of his place in the division?? The last live fighter he fought gave him all hell in David Estrada, and Clottey is an even tougher SOB who has way better skills and physical tools. I don't know if he's even improved much at all since fighting Margarito... He looked impressive beating Teddy Reid before that as well.. I do think he's a real dangerous and hard puncher, but I don't think he can beat a world class fighter who can take his punch and put pressure on him. His only defence I can see is really to hang on when a guy get's in close with him, he can't fight in the pocket, he's not a counter puncher, he's a limited guy, moreso than any of the other big WW's imo. Id put Collazo and Clottey above him easily in a top 10 welter list.Originally Posted by El Gamo
Well, although Cintron's level of opposition is not that great, guys like Mathysse,Reid,Suarez and Estrada were all decent fighters. I don't know,I just think being with Manny has given him confidence. He defintely uses more movement than before and his jab is better than it has been. These factors, combined with his power, make him dangerous imo.
And you made one of the best points,"don't think he can beat a world class fighter who can take his punch" because very very few fighters could take his punch imo. I obviously see his limitations but the thing most people use to say he is not that good is the Margarito fight but a.) few in the division are as tough as Tony and b.) it was a styles thing.
I don't see many that can stand and trade him with him and his confidence is also visibly growing.
I think Clottey squeaks by in a tough close fight with Collazo. Great match-up though & with the victor to face Cintron it just gets better! Cintron/ Clottey is a much harder fight to pick, Kermit's power is undeniable but so is Clottey's chin IMO.
The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
Both are good fighters, I think Clottey will pull it off with his defense, they both are great technicians. Collazo has to be given some credit tho, he will mix it up with anyone....Hatton, Mosely, now Clottey. The southpaw style may give Clottey a little problem but he will land more over the 12 rounds and win a close one on the cards.
