At this point, I bet Winky has a hard time getting below 160, let alone 154..... let alone 147.

This is basically Winky's way of saying he's desparate to fight DLH.

I think though, if he's talking 147 then he should go after Floyd. Oscar could be a start to that though.

You could think he has any good shot at making 147? Talk about dropping weight, that's almost unheard of considering he's never really fought there.

It's probably posturing but if he says he is ready to go there then maybe he is. He definitely doesn't belong anywhere above 160.

147 is a lot of weight to cut from fighting mostly at 154 but if he says he could do it then who knows, maybe he can. I doubt he would be tops, but 147, I mean it seems that the only two people who are suited best there are Cotto and Mosley.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely don't want him at 147. I think 160 is better for him but there isn't money there anymore and 168 is to tempting there. The guys are to big for Winky above 160.

I can't see that happening. What about Pavlik/Wright if Pavlik wins, or Pavlik v the Kessler/Calzaghe winner? That makes much more sense. Even Oscar at 154 or 160, but it's kinda pointless to me....then again, Wright v. Hopkins was kinda pointless.

Cotto used to absolutely murder himself to get to 140lbs, in the ring he would be 160lbs or maybe more. When you look at that weight hike, it's quite similar for Wright to get to 147. It would also be murder for Oscar to get to 147lbs, so they'd both be in equally bad shape in the ring to get down there though. If Winky's in the ring weight is 170lbs, it would be possible to get down to 147lbs, but he'd look like a chemo patient on the scale.

I think this sports needs changes and one of them is acts like these from fighters. Wanting to fight a guy just for the money. Atleast hide the fact that you want to fight oscar just cause he brings in money. Fans are at fault too, for being nutthuggers. Loving oscar is o.k and all but geez we need fights that determines legecy, not paper hungry fighters. Everyone may very well want Oscar for the $$$ but Wright sounds a bit too desperate here. He's not young anymore,this yo-yoing in weight is going to have an adverse affect on him! I don't even think he can make 154 anymore or it would be certainly be a struggle.

Going after the biggest pay-day in boxing. How foolish. Why exactly do you think boxers fight? It's not all for the recognition and glory - its about cash at the end of the day. Winky Wright has nothing to prove legacy-wise and he's been chasing after Oscar for a while now. He's already established a HoF career, why not try to cash in? It's not like he has ten years left in the sport.
