i say if manny takes marco out he retains no. 2 then if pbf performs poorly that's the time they exchange places at the top.

and that's coming from a true blue pac fan.
CC for being totally honest about it. I take back what I wrote and take your view. Good post.

Manny's been there done that i don't see how beating a fading Barrera again would rank him number 1.
Yeah, you're right,I take KK's stance on the situation.

Tearing through opposition? Oh you mean Sharmba,Gatti? Who has he faced at 147 or 140 that is more accomplished/better than even this aged version of MAB?? DOn't get me wrong,Mayweather is certainly P4P number 1 right now.
To be honest Gamo there wern't really anyone at Lightwelterweight except for Hatton because Tszyu retired and that fight is happening now anyway as for Welterweight there wasn't really anyone either Cotto was still too green Williams was still too green and Margarito was calling him out but Margarito hadn't done a damn thing Mayweather hasn't ducked anyone and has beat good fighters and also goodish opposition to be honest bro can you name many fighters that have achieved and beat as many quality opposition as Mayweather ??

    Genaro Hernandez
    Diego Corrales
    Carlos Hernandez
    Angel Manfredy
    Jesus Chavez
    Jose Luis Castillo
    Victoriano Sosa
    Oscar De La Hoya
    Carlos Baldomir
    Zab Judah
    Arturo Gatti
    Sharmba Mitchell
    Phillip N'dou

Ok so few of them aren't greatest fighters in the world but these aren't a bad set of names to have on your record if you ask me.

Only other fights that could of happened are.

    Paul Spadafora
    Joel Casamayor
    Antonio Margarito

And even these fights wouldn't of been easy to make except the Margarito fight but that wouldn't of done anything for Mayweather.

LOL,i was not saying anything about Mayweather's opponents in general. I was talking about the ones at 140 and 147 in particualr, especially in relation to MAB. I know Manny has beaten MAB before but MAB will be 126% for their rematch.

Like I said,Mayweather is still P4P number 1 but I was just making an observation.

Wasn't Barerra just beat by JMM??

I would give Mayweather the same amount of credit if he called Sugar Ray Leonard out of retirement and beat him as I would for Pac beating an old, faded MAB................. let alone Morales

ive said this a few months back... if we are talking about p4p best in aggresiveness and eagerness to kill the opponent then its PAC

but if its p4p best in technical skills or being a boxer as a whole then hands down its mayweather.

A guy like Edwin Valero is more aggressive and eager than Pac, he never stops throwing punches. Its a dumb criteria because we all know Valero isn't half the fighter Pac is.

Its just the people who don't understand boxing (think its all about putting on a good show or KOing your opponent) and the many Floyd haters coming together for a common goal. The haters want someone else as #1 p4p because they hate Floyd and the people who don't care about boxing want Pac as #1 because he's the big exciting KO puncher.

I think this is unfair. MAB may be old, but he is not shot and he is still a very good fighter. He did lose to Marquez, but it was a very competitive fight. Marquez is the same guy who many people think beat Pacquiao in the fight a few years ago that was called a draw.

Pacquiao should beat MAB, but it's still impressive if he does it. In fact, I give MAB a better shot at upsetting Pac than I give Hatton of beating Floyd.

I agree with this article here especially if you consider Pacs, SRR skill like attributes.

This is crap p4p determines who beats who if they were fighting at the same weight how they are fighting now in comparison to their current division. Mayweather way ahead of anyone, and the voting for the ring magazine is still heading that direction. Pacquaio hasn't looked especially good in his last two non-blockbuster fights. I think Pacquaio is heading more for the decline than Mayweather the way he fights. I can see Cotto eventually taken Mayweather off the top or Paul Williams or Kessler, but not Pacquaio at least not deservingly.

I'm a pac fan and everyone knows that, but this is really getting retarded. pac threads after pac threads.

floyd is hands down p4p #1 and only a lost will take him out of that spot, not pac beating mab again.

pac is the best at how he fights and floyd is the best at how he fights lets leave it at that please.

Currently, I do agree that PBF deserves the top spot. I have NO problem with that. But Manny is younger and will achieve more that would put him as one of the greats.

Mayweather picks on fighters he thinks he can beat while pac fights anyone who gives him the biggest paycheck. Until Mayweather takes on the best fighters out there, I won't put him at the top. And his fans making the same ol' lame excuses for him won't help him either. Actually, they have a completely opposite stlyles. Pac comes forward just a little too much, while Mayweather goes backward just a bit too much. But a choice between a charger and a runner? Com'on, this is boxing, not a sissy running competition. ...just defending my boy. Now if you Mayweather boys want us pacfools to be kind to your boy, then be kind to our boy. Peace.

Mick, El Gamo won't take that sitting down. Take 'em back cuz the last time I said something foolish like that, he beat the heck out of me.

All right, I'll be a little kinder this time. You know folks, Mayweather can be as good as SRL if he can come just a little bit more forward, asserting his dominance just a little bit more. That's all it takes.

Bro he has dominated near enough most of his opponent's Whitaker never come forward but he is p4p great you don't need to come forward why should Mayweather change his style when he is so good at what he does ?? i find Mayweather exciting to watch i love watching guys who are extremely talented and who are leagues ahead of the competition like Pernell Whitaker, Roy Jones Jr, ect.
