Even though this topic is old i thought I would add to it.

Our gym is open from 12-9. I have only been through the daytime so i dont know what its like at night.

The gym is divided into 2 floors. Women/fitness area is upstairs and the pros and amateurs train downstairs. I havent been upstairs so i dont know what the set up is like there.

In the gym there are usually one to three coaches in there. Each fighter seems to be taken under the wing of a coach. I have a coach who is 76 years old, the other coach who was there when i joined didnt want to train me because he cant speak English! (The gym is in japan btw) lol

There are no lessons as such, the coach shows you things and keeps an eye on you to see how you are doing. We train 3 minute rounds with 30 seconds rest. If you are looing a bit tired, my coach lets you take it easy or have a bit of a longer rest between rounds.

The coach makes me warm up with about 4-7 rounds of skipping, depending on how he feels. Then he shows me a couple of combinations and we practice them on the pads. 2 or 3 rounds.

After that he puts me on the heavy bag, usually for about 4 rounds. Again, it depends on how much he feels that I need.

After that, about 3 rounds on the double end bag and maybe a bit of weight training if I have any energy left. And a round or two of skipping to finish off.

The gym has quite a lot of skipping ropes, gloves and headgear. We can leave our gloves, shoes etc in the gym and just write our names on them. So you have to check that the gym owns the stuff before you use them. There is a big mirrored area for skipping and shadow boxing. There is also a rope between two pillars for slipping punches.

There are 4 heavy bags. Two are quite light which are used for practicing fast combinations. The other two are very heavy and are for practicing power punches and combinations.

There is also a double end bag and two speed ball mounts with no speed ball on them. And a ring of course.

Simple,I yell at people, and they do as I tell them
    If not,I yell louder
If theyre still not doing it right,I use sarcasm, and maybe even a clever metaphor
