Last week it was the news that a 4 year old girl was told to take down her hood in a family arcade as they had a 'no hoodies' policy. The manager defended it saying we need to be able to see people's faces in case they commit a crime. SHE WAS 4!!!Originally Posted by skel1983
I experienced this level of stupidity myself a few years ago. Recovering from cancer I was given a special grant of a few hundred pounds to sign up for distance learning A levels.
The government privided me with a letter to send to the distance learning people that said they would cover 90% of the funding for me and I only had to pay 10% of the costs myself.
When I booked them I told them my mum was going to pay my 10% on her credit card. The woman on the other end of the phone was reading the instructions completely literally and told me that I PERSONALLY had to pay the 10% and not my mum.
I tried to explain to her that she was clearly an idiot and that the letter didn't imply that I actually had to prove that the 10% was my own personal money and that my mum paying didn't count but she was having none of it.
She actually made my mum come on the phone to speak to her and then tried to make me promise her that I was going to pay my mum back![]()
I politely told her she was a moron and that I was going to put the phone down and ring again hoping that someone with a brain would pick up next time.
She said I was rude and that she was only trying to do her job.
I said whoever gave you your job obviously didn't do theirs.
Anyway after I spoke to a normal person they signed me up no problem.
But these idiot people really do exist, I met one!
