Obviously a confidence builder.

I know he looked dry at 160 but I really wish he would stay there. Maybe it would mean trimming a bit but if he did it this long, why not now?

168 is just to deep for Miranda. Outside of the welterweight ring, it is going to be the most top heavy division in all of boxing here shortly. Calzaghe and Kessler are a clear 1 and 2, and then we have both Taylor and Pavlik moving up after their showdown. Jeff Lacy is coming back in this next year, if he has any left then he is certainly going to be higher ranked then Miranda and guys like RJ, Winky and B-Hop are always pondering testing the super middleweight waters. Miranda doesn't really have a chance to do anything at the top.

I suppose he could go after an Allen Green rematch.

At 160, after this big Taylor - Pavlik bout, if the two top guys clear out then the top guy in the division is probably going to be Arthur Abraham. That is unless Winky decides to clean up but there isn't any real money there right now. And it's not like we have tons of new guys ready to come in there either.

Miranda put out a good account of himself versus Abraham and that's what started all that Miranda-mania. If he stays at 168 then we can pretty much expect him to be an ESPN2 fixture. He'll have good KO's but not be any real competitive matchups until he challenges the top guys where he just isn't going to win.
