    Default Fighter of the year?

Who do you guys have as your fighter of the year so far? I have Pavlik taking it if he beats Taylor. Otherwise its up to Floyd. I just think 3 fights 2 good wins will be enough to give it to Pavlik. Cotto could take it if he beats Mosely, too.

Cotto takes it if he beats Mosley.Or vise versa. Pavlik will be high if he beats JT.Calderon is high up there.

Hatton, No dOUBT if he beats PBF. Thats beating IBF Urango, JLC and then WBC PBF = PERFECT YEAR for the Hitman if he pulls off the mayweather win.

I don't think Hatton is going to beat Mayweather thats why i didn't add him instead

    Mayweather.

Really I couldn't see it being anyone else but him or Cotto.

    Mayweather hands down.

As many awards in all sports, Fighter of the Year is also a popularity contest as much as a recognition of achievements. By the end of the year Mayweather will have been involved in the two highest grossing fights of the year, not to mention the highest grossing fight in history.

Besides beating the best 154 lber (which Oscar was at the time even though we don't want to admit it) and the best 140 lber in the same year is a pretty big achievement.

Of course this changes if he loses.......but he won't lose.

I guess the Floyd argument makes sense. I could see Cotto, Pavlik, and Manny P (pending the outcome of their upcoming fights) as possible contenders if Floyd lost... although Hatton would probably be the front-runner if he could pull that off.

You could throw Hatton as well into that mix up after his last fight and if he beats Mayweather by K.O or stoppage. Pavlik should take if be beats Taylor. Pavlik is plain scary.

If Hatton beats Mayweather then surely there's no competition, unless Pavlik stops Taylor impressively then that's front runner. If neither man wins those big fights then I'd go for B-hop, Mayweather or Pacquiao. Or Randy Couture

I got to say Randy Couture too, ironic how its the opposite for chuck. when it was chuck that won two of three. I guess Randy is at a better weight for him
