He said he felt that Martinez had not damaged his confidence as he was not outboxed or comprehensively beaten over 8-10 rounds. He said Kiko never proved he was the better fighter he just caught him cold.

In my opinion this rematch must now happen to ressurect Dunnes career. Rumours of complacency in the Dunne camp and his vast underestimation of the then Challenger have not helped his poularity one bit and he has taken a bit of a beating, if not in the media, in the whisperings of the public. A win over Martinez would surely set the scene for a rubber match and Dunne had better hope he finds some newweapon which will capacitate him to beat the Spaniard.

Another point which i dislike d about Dunne was his insistence that the fight be held in Ireland, Ok it makes sense financially but where is his integrity. Martinez came to Dunnes back yard and Knocked him out as challenger, why does dunne the challenger feel that the Champ should now travel; to him once agin. Mayb an excuse not to make the fight?
Mate he's Irish it's virtually impossible for his career to fail. His fans are so passionate that he will always sell out Dublin no matter who he's fighting.

He's still a very high profile fighter, exciting to watch and with a ton of potential. Personally I can't wait to see him in the ring again. He certainly doesn't need a rematch with Martinez to rebuild his career.

Such is his popularity in Dublin I still wouldn't be suprised if Molitor or one of the other champs decided to come over and fight him.

He's huge in Ireland.
Bilbo i'm irish, alot of his popularity died when he went down.
I'm not saying he's done as a fighter, he's just going to have to do something spectacular to regain the support he once had. When Dunne lost it wasn't like this great aura of invincibility was broken, it was more like, confirming what everybody already knew.

If Dunne goes toe to toe again he gets knocked out, he can outbox Martinez, but toe to toe he gets iced
