I don't agree, I mean Pavlik was even outjabbing Taylor, I think this fight was the first time I've ever agreed with Harold Lederman, I only gave Taylor the second and the fifth.
I was impressed with Pavlik, after the second he was agressive but not in a wild way, using the jab, the right hand, not opening up in a wild way but grinding Taylor down. Taylor just started looking desperate to me, I definitely don't agree that he was coming on, he did well in the fifth and I guess you could make a case that he won the sixth, but he was just looking desperate and tired.
I'm not saying Taylor couldn't beat Pavlik, he obviously can hurt Pavlik, but I don't think Taylor's chances of winning a decision are that good. His conditioning is just very poor and his defense just isn't good enough to avoid Pavlik's power for twelve round. I was shocked at how easy it was for Pavlik to land his jab.
