Even before this fight was over, I was thinking to myself, "Oh well, prepare for a big let down in the main event. Happy I get to at least see one great fight." Sure am glad I was so wrong!!!

With Estrada's skill set and fight philosophy, he really would have to be the strongest welterweight by far on the planet to have success at the elite level. I imagine he could get another bout against a top fighter one more time, but I don't see him getting a major title. I hope if he continues to fight, that his management will avoid strong good punchers. In both this and the Cintron fight he was competitive the whole way, but man did he take a lot of punishment...

I'd like to see the contrast in styles of Berto against Williams or Margarito, but this was the WBC and IBF eliminator I believe. Does that mean Cintron, because Mosley's WBC is an interim title? He definitely has the potential to beat top guys, and I thought he really showed improvement over the previous efforts I've seen from him, especially showing more patience as well as a better jab and body work, but I'm not sure if he's quite ready for the likes of Cintron.

One good quality I saw in Berto this fight was the ability to follow his instincts even though they went against the game plan and the trainers advice. They wanted him to jab and combo and get out to avoid giving Estrada the chance to fight his fight and have greatest chance at winning. In the middle rounds however, Berto seemed to know that he needed to let Estrada know that he was the stronger man. He stood in there toe to toe with him for a couple of rounds and that's when Estrada seemed to start to wither a bit.
