I disagree that he had Pavlik beaten or that he beat himself. he had him hurt but not beaten, but you are right, it isn't just energy expending haymakers. He's too tense in the ring and he always has been. He gets too hyper and amped up, then drops his right, then things go poorly for him. He was finally in witha guy that made him pay for that flaw in his game. That's just him. Some fighters are like that. He's the anti-James Toney. You could say he beat himself if he changed or fought differently than the way he came to be champion, but he did the same crap against Wright and Hopkins.
