Taylor is sharper right now and I think if he really wants his belt back he will be tough for anyone. I think Lacy was finished after Joe, and right now Taylor will simply blow holes through him. A somewhat amateur way to look at this matchup, but I'd bet JT's pride is hurt real bad and he's going to take it out on whoever is in front of him until he can get back to Pavlik.

I think Taylor is finished at the top level. The signs have been showing for a while now....

I dont think he will be a top level fighter anymore.

Taylor is too good to lose this fight. He would outwork lacy, and if kept a resonable defence he would box to a decision. Lacy is just alll mouth and i know for a fact Taylor offers a lot more than him.

Ive been dissapointed in Jeff of late and if he doesnt do something outstanding i will not see him beating any of the top 168 fighters.

    Taylor UD.

lol, i think to be honest a lot of this critism has got to him and hes really being dragged down by it. I think this loss will be good for him because it will give him that push to regain the title and fight on and become and even stronger fighter. He was unlucky in fighting a hungry Pavlik, but i do believe that Taylor can change to win the rematch if it happens IMO.

I don't think this fight would be a mismatch at all, assuming Lacy can come back healthy.

HArd to say really, while taylor has the talent, lacy has the workd rate to be in his face hitting him all night, taylor getts lazy as hell and could get put away again if the win.

Not sure if Lacys' gonna fight again though
I remember brian viloria represented in usa in the olympics too and they said he is actually the strongest puncher. Sad all three turned out how they did now.
wow didn't expect to get much out of my post here.

He was the first boxer from the 00 Olympics to win a world title. He got a lot of money and fully paid off a house in Vegas that he could live in for the rest of his life if he wanted. And he still has a solid head on his shoulders and is generally recognized as one of the better people in all of boxing. He's accomplished a lot. He has a lot more to tell his grandkids at 29 then most of us will ever have for our entire lives. He was boxing's breath of fresh air for a while there, was even in a Super Bowl commercial.

Sorry just had to get that all out, didn't mean to get on you specifically but a lot of people down on Lacy in ways they shouldn't be.

Anyways, if Lacy can return to prime form then this is definitely an interesting matchup. Make no mistake about it, Taylor isn't Calzaghe and no one will have an easy time with Lacy if he's 100%.

Taylor can be backed up fairly easily and that's what Lacy would do. Lacy is also good enough to keep from being backed up by Taylor and Taylor isn't exactly hard to hit. Lacy would also be a lot bigger and work the body.

I think this would be a great fight that has a great chance to come off. At this point I would favor JT with my head, but Lacy would definitely have my support. I wouldn't expect a blowout on either end.
I didn't mean sad as in feeling sorry for them, I didn't nothing harmful to there fans. I'm just saying these three were all undefeated with very promising future. I'm just saying now that was have seen there future they didn't turn out to be as dominant as we wanted them to be or thought they would be.

From what i no of Lacy, he's only 30 years old, he's got 22 wins and only 1 loss. That loss being to arguably the best Supermiddleweight fighter in the world.
So excuse me for thinking he's far from finished and we have no idea how he "turns out."
Lacy will be fighting again, and he'll be back in training come the new year, most likely in Undisputed in San Diego. The long layoff is accountable to the horrible shoulder injury and probably to some extent due to the horrible beating Calzaghe gave him.

I for one feel a match up between Lacy and Taylor could be very interesting. The winner may receive the redemption needed to relaunch careers which have both faltered after their biggest respective tests. Taylor is considerably better in the skill, speed and versatility depts. but one can argue that Lacy has big advantages in power, chin and perhaps stamina as we have seen JT fade in late rounds (although that too could be attributed to making weight.)

All in all i guess all that im trying to say is that both fighters are not finished, they have lost one fight a piece. in addition each showed considerable heart in their respective losses, with Lacy blatantly refusing to be stopped and Taylor deciding to slug it out with the bigger stronger Pavlik.

Their losses have actually made me gain respect for them.
yea they are not finish and yea they have gain respect in their defeat well not viloria. I'm just saying they ended up running into guys much stronger and eventually defeated them pretty bad. I think j.t and lacy can be back in the championship race, I even think j.t can win the rematch with pavlik. I just meant sad in a way a fan would say it, cause I never wanted lacy to lose to calzagne or j.t getting k.oed by pavlik and viloria getting beat by a dope head. these guys were representing us in the olympics I just didn't like how they lost.

Although it all depends on how they come back tho. Lacy showed the will to comeback but was hindered greatly by the injury, will Taylor show the same?
