wow, just saw the title of this thread as the last response on this board, didn't know we had so many Lost fans on Saddo's.... What a great show, I only started watching about 3 months ago and I got caught up to the current episode of the 3rd season in about a week and a half, now I have every episode on my laptop. Probably the best TV show ever made, imo.

amazing theory about The Statue that we saw in "Live together, Die Alone". I'm sure it is a part of The Colossus of Rhodes, one of the seven wonder of the Ancient World.

According to Wikipedia, The Colossus was a huge statue of the Greek god Helios on the island of Rhodes.



What I have discovered is amazing:
the other name by which Helios was identified is Apollo !!

As an additional point within this post, here's something interesting: we all know what famous statue was inspired by The Colossus of Rhodes:



The Statue of Liberty is located in New York, which has the Apollo Theater:



In "The Man from Tallahassee", Anthony Cooper's apartment has a picture of the Apollo Theater (check http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/The_Man_from_Tallahassee)

There is no more doubt in my mind, The Statue is in fact a lost part of The Colossus of Rhodes.
or at least a replica based on it.

#1 Helios was the God of the Sun. The first Lostie to spot the statue was Sun, wife of Jin.
#2 Someone e-mailed me and informed me that according to mythology, Helios lost a toe
while riding his sun chariot ! (sorry, no reference yet)
#3 The name of 5 of the stations of the island, The Arrow, The Staff , The Swan, The Flame and The Hydra are all
related to Apollo (courtesy of TheAntiHippie, see his post on page 2).
#4 Another of the Seven Wonder of the Ancient World was the Temple of Artemis. Artemis is the twin sister of Apollo.
The Colossus and the Temple of Artemis were very close to each other; in the last episode of season 3, Ben instructs Richard to take The Others to THE TEMPLE.
#5 One of Apollo's son was named Linus. Ben's full name is Benjamin Linus. (reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linus_%28mythology%29)
#6 The Colossus was at the entrance of a harbor; the Foot in the episode was at what seemed to be a small harbor or small bay.

For some reason I've gotten into watching these odd TV shows lately. Has anybody seen Survivorman? I don't know why I like it, its just this one guy going out into various parts of the world (Amazon jungle, Boreal Forest, South African plains, dangerous places) by himself with no camera crew, pretty much nothing at all, and he just has to survive for seven days. Its the best show about starvation I've ever seen.

Even more odd, I'm addicted to this show called Bizarre Foods. I have no idea why, I don't watch cooking shows, ever. I dislike them actually, but this guy just travels the world eating bizarre foods. For some reason I watch it all the time? No idea why. I find myself thinking I could eat anything he does but then he goes to Scotland and they show people making Haggis and I started to dry heave. He's eaten a live beating frog heart before and I'd take the live beating frog heart over Haggis. British people

Need Lost and the Office to come back so I can stop watching shows about eating frog hearts. Although I don't think I can stop

I had a theory regarding this that I posted a while back. I thought maybe Michael was the one in the coffin and he had killed himself. That Walt and his crazy powers of astral projection went back in time to warn Locke. His abilities allowed future Walt to trace back all the future pain and suffering (his fathers suicide, Jacks breakdown, Kate's odd behavior) to this one moment. He then appeared to Locke at the key moment to tried and persuade him to stop Naomi and save the future. I think Walt might have been future Walt from 2007 (when the flash forward was) because he is older (granted the actor aged, but the writers said they always took this into consideration when writing the role), and the line "only fools are enslaved by time and space" hints that perhaps Jacob can bend space and time, and Walt seems to have some Jacob-like abilities.

This also works if Locke was the one in the coffin, as he has shown himself to be special and possibly crucial to the fate of the island and the survivors, and he is very close to Walt, so Walt would wish to prevent his death.

What is Dark tOWER bro? CC back. I loved all theories and sure there were holes but overall,it was pretty darn amazing. They are definitely going to twist it around. LOL,there has been nothing to keep up with my man,the LOST cast/producers/everyone involved is engaging in radio silence,appraently,NO ONE is allowed to say anything. I guess we will benefit from this in the long run.

The Dark Tower is the series of gunslinger books by Stephen King. The LOST crew also had a copy of The Stand on the table for a lot of their brainstorming sessions. Check out this link:

There are spoilers there if you haven't read those SK books, but you can tell there's a lot of parallels going on there. The guys from LOST just took it and ran! On a side note, SK sold the movie rights to the Dark Tower series to JJ Abrams for 19 dollars - one of the "numbers" in the Dark Tower series.

I wish February would hurry up and get here!
