I don't really think so. He's an old man (boxing wise) with a completely crap hand. The excuses are already set. To be fair, at this stage, he should be facing fellow geriatrics not a guy like Kessler.

And if he doesn't beat Kessler this time he'll never beat him so there'd be no point in a rematch.. unless it's an absolute classic and everyone wants it again, of course.

Statistically he's an old man, but he's looked after himself so i don't think he's aged that much, similarly to Hopkins i gues in that it is largely due to a healthy diet and plenty of excercise out of training. The hands are the one worry. Funnily enough in his tougher recent fights (as in quality opponent.) he didn hurt his hands against Lacy or Bika, he managed to hurt them against tune-ups Manfredo and Ashira. So it is a possability that the hands tend to injure when Joe gets careless.

Anyway, what i was trying to say originally was, if Joe feels that retirement is looming and a loss would bring on retirement even earlier he will be highly motivated for this fight.

I think he'll retire undefeated.
