    Sounds pretty stupid to me.

In the article, one guy says the rule is to lower the amount of "draws and controversial decisions."
How does one less round mean less controversial decisions? A judge can make a bad scorecard for an 11 round fight just as easily as a 12 round fight.

Technically, 11 rounds can mean less draws... but what percentage of title fights end in draws? Think of all the big fights just in this decade.. how many ended in draws? I can think of Taylor-Wright and Pacquiao-Marquez?
Considering how rare a draw is, is it worth it to provide one less round to paying customers, just to lower the chances of a draw happening, when it hardly ever happens anyway?

    Dumb all the way around.

The MMWC would not do such a stupid thing as that.

MMWC is the way forward for boxing.

Instead of the championship rounds, we will now have the championship round.

I wish they changed it from 12 to 13. That's progress.

I can't say that I am supprised. I expected them to eventuly move to uneaven rounds like when it was 15. But I was hoping it would be one more not one less. Why, oh why does 13 have to be an unlucky number

I can not for the life of me see the sense in 11 or 9 rd fights....Just as stupid if not more so then the contenders 5 rd affairs.....Why we are at it lets have 7 1/2 rounders...3 rounders.....hell lets just get rid of the rounds all together and have nothing but ring entrances and results

How silly. They'll probably just do it like the UFC in a couple of years I wish they'd go back to 15 rounders personally.

I can't say I would want the 15 bround fights back. I am all for the idea that they are just a bit too long safety wise but really now...WTF is the point of an 11 rd bout......at what point in time would 11 rd bouts take place?...are they doing away with 10 rounders all together??...

    I actually like this.

It's not the WBA that's fighting for the 11 rounders, it's their regional title the Fedalatin title.

Regional titles I think are a good thing, and I don't think they dillute the overall picture much and don't think they are the problem as far as the to many belts thing goes. But there is no reason for these regional titles like the NABF, USBA, Fecarbox or any of those others including the Fedalatin to be fighting for 12 rounds.

It used to be that 15 rounds were reserved for World Title Fights. 12 rounds would be to determine title shots or for some regional titles and everything else fairly significant was contested over 10.

This clears that up a little bit. Because honestly, there is no reason for the Fedalatin to be 12 rounds. It just diminishes the importance of real 15 rounders. So this is a nice compromise.

I honestly wish more would follow suit. So people know that if they are tuned into a 12 round fight then it means something.

Someone mentioned the UFC. Well, the UFC only utilizes 5 rounds if it is an important fight, a title fight. And the title actually means something. When you watch a 5 rounder, you're watching something important.

That's one of the many things boxing needs.

And I also like how they are investigating other ways to score fights and going about it the right way. Very good stuff from the WBA. At least they're legitimately working to better the sport and trying new things out.

A 13th round would add a lot of mystique. I'd like that to happen.

I like the investigating fights idea. Other than that,I'm not too sure...

Why not limit it to 1 round, Better yet zero rounds and everybody gets to vote as to who will win. Bring back the 15 round fights. They meant something.
