you cant judge a player, any player on a short series.... Excellent pitching will always beat excellent hitting bottom line.. Hitting is streaky Excellent teams can go 1-3 in a series during the year and then reel of 10 wins. Yankees are set up fine next year and Torre and A-rod arent going anywere

And like I stated they are trimming off some of the old clingers in the off season, when the yankees were dominant during there dynasty they were like the Indians, great pitching and timely hitting with a Bruiser in the middle of the line up..
As for A-Rod...and "you can't judge a player on a short series".....well it's not A short series it's SEVERAL short series where he has FLOPPED

Rivera might not come back and even if he did he is old too and may be on his last leg

....Pettite might not come back AND he's like 50 years old...he's good, better than most but he's old, I can't stress it enough
