Maybe I'm just upset because the new george foreman grill we got is shite compared to the old one.
when you look at his resume you have to consider his whole body of work, his record isint split in 2, its like everyone elses... In the 90's he had a good jab, and great ring generalship with the discipline to walk his opponent down and cut off the ring efficiently and controlled, his defense improved by leaps utilizing the cross arm..

George's desire and will was 2nd to none and he left such a mark on the sport that was something of a Folk hero, I rate alltime great in terms of record, quality of opposition and achievment coupled with impact on the sport...

To me it really dosent matter who was tailor made for who, Frazier was considered a worldbeater at the time and George put one of the most brutal beatings ever in a boxing ring 2x
It should matter though. you can't go off just one fight. Those fights where the best George has looked against high level opposition by far and both times it has been against some one perfect for him to fight against.

I'd rank Ali at number one, for boxing ability, athleticism, achievements and impact on the sport (which big George has arguably done as much in, possibly more). Tyson second, no one can deny his boxing ability when he was being handled properly and I think that his decline often makes people overlook his achievements. Third would be Lewis, he's had defeats where he's dropped the ball but I've always rated his style and he was the man for a long time. 4th is an open spot for me. Possibly Marciano because of how long he was champion (this could end up being a whole other debate) then for the 5th spot it's a toss between Louis and George. the reason I don't have George higher is because he's never been the division. All the other guys listed became the man and stayed that way for longer than George did.
