8 no, but i see a lot of non title fights with top tier fighters going the 12 just so they no they can do 12 yano.
Thing is, we saw what happened when David Haye got it in his head that he wanted to go 12 rounds, and it made for a really dull fight, I think the shorter distances make for more exciting fights if there is no title on the line, because it makes fighters make the moves early on and not just put in a dull performance, fighting the last 30 seconds of each round to conserve energy.
Same point for the Gatti-Ward fights i guess.
