I completely agree on the Kessler fight, that was the only full fight of Kesslers I have seen and he really impressed me with his ring generalship and solid technique. He kept moving all night keeping perfect range on Andrade. I think the fact that Andrade took such a beating and survived kind of took precedent and stole the show a little. Andrade wasnt too hard to hit as well. The only part I disagree with you about is Caballero. He looked either weight drained or he has low endurance because this last fight Lacierva made him look sluggish a bit and lanky with the looping uppercut. Havent seen that N'Dou Rabah fight, I'll have to try and catch that.

I meant to the casual fan he is underrated, not to a true boxing fan such as yourself.
arguello has always been respected here in the philippines cos of the beating he gave navarette who was the country's manny pacquiao at that time so i was really unaware of him being underrated.

The 122 division belongs to Rafael Marquez and Israel Vazquez. Which is why Caballero has a hard time getting noticed

Ponce de Leon gets noticed quite a bit, yet he got schooled by Caballero.

CC#102 on me eagle for mentioning 'El Flaco Explosivo' defintely underrated and under appreciated.

The man is legendary...... He is the ONLY boxer whos been Champion in 3 weight classes, defended every title he had at least once and NEVER lost a Championship fight. I think he does get placed low in all time P4P rankings and he is less talked about then the likes of other fighters who did less then he.
I've had that avatar picture of him dropping 'El Puas' from day 1 here at Saddos, I changed it once to commemarate Sanchez vs. Gomez.
I wouldn't call Arguello underrated every boxing fan who knows what there on about know Arguello was a legendary fighter his fights with.

    Mancini
    Olivares
    Pryor 2 times

Were legendary fights and plenty of others were aswell.

Alexis Arguello is DEFINITELY under rated. The man is an all time great for sure yet hardly gets mentioned.

As for under rated fights,Gilbert Venegas v Jesus Soto Karass and Angulo Lopez v Patrick Ford were 2 of teh best fights this year but hardly anyone saw them. Youtube them, look for them on torrents but watch these fights,I can't emphasise this enough, they were sensational!Ndou Rabah-good call,a very good fight.

I agree Kessler's schooling of Andrade was one of the performances of the year but I think Maligniaggi Ndou is up there too, especially as quite a few chose Ndou to win.I mae a thread similar to this a while ago,I'll see if I can find it later.

He is under rated because he does not get the credit he deseves. You hardly see his name mentioned and if it is,it's always linked with Pryor's whereas Alexis legacy is so much bigger than that. He accomplished so much more, accomplishments which usually go unnoticed by boxing fans.

CutmeMick, where has Tuctan gone? I remember when I first became a boxing fan, joined this site and heard of a boxer called Argullo, and he told me EVERYTHING about him. In fact,if I remember correctly,Tuctan was writing a book about El Flaco Explosive? I have not seen Tuctan in over a year and a half at least! If you're reading this Tuctan, get back here my man!

Ice not everyone knows about Arguello, most casual fans have'nt heard of him.
The reason he is underrated is because his achievements were so great he should be mentioned just as much as Chavez and Sanchez yet he is not remembered as much as those.

I suppose your right on this part when people are mentioning Arguello they only mention his fights with Pryor and don't mention all his other achievements infact now i think about there has been plenty of Arguello vs Pryor discussion's but how many have been about Arguello's other fights ?? on this forum ?? but i give Arguello his props one of my favorite fights of Arguello is his legendary fight with Olivares i must have watched that like 10 times and his fight with Mancini i must have watched 20 times
